Virtual First Steps
Virtual First Steps is a series of meetings (once per quarter) to help individuals newly diagnosed with dementia, with their carepartners, to understand their diagnosis and the changes they experience. It will also offer participants an opportunity to share and connect with others embarking on a similar journey.
Topics covered will include:
-
What is Dementia? From Diagnosis to Treatment
-
Brain Health & Adapting to Brain Changes
-
Managing Risk & Planning Ahead
-
Building a Circle of Care
Living with Dementia Support Group
A monthly in-person meeting, providing persons in the early stages of dementia with a safe space to come together in person while having a loosely structured conversation around their diagnosis and their shared experiences.

Circle of Friends
Circle of Friends is an inclusive concept providing a structured but relaxed opportunity for both the CarePartner and person living with dementia to come together, socialize and participate in simple, yet engaging and meaningful activities on a quarterly basis. The disease can be isolating, and friends and family can find it challenging to transition as capabilities and dynamics change within the relationship. This group is best suited for those persons in the earlier stages of symptoms.
